Do not remove these chairs

Another Saturday and it's also the last day of February. Tomorrow we'll be in March. Same old, same old.

Here I am, sitting at the school's lobby, killing time and trying to pretend that I'm not aware that 'she' is here. Because the past two weeks since she started to ignore me, she'll whiz away downstairs. Not hanging out near the class's door, taking a peek at her girl, the teacher and the class.

Who is 'she'?

Well, she was the mother who befriended me the day we came for trial class. She's friendly, but I sense a lil bit of kiasu syndrome in her. For one, she bragged how her daughter can do ballet poses even before she went to a ballet class. I find that hard to believe because our national tv don't really show ballet performances on air every now and then, do they?

She also said the teacher from previous school was the one who suggested her to enrol her daughter into a known school because she was too good for them. Eh. The thing I couldn't stand about her was that she complained too much. She doesn't like how the class teacher teaches, said there's too many break in between and not showing the kids enough techniques.

Have she tried the class? Coz I tried practicing the things Mira learned at home and boy, it was tiring! The skipping, the jumping, the hand movements. So, I don't think it's wrong for the teacher to let the kids take a breather after each rep.

Three weeks ago, she was adamant to swap her kid to the Sunday's class. Supposedly, the class teacher is better. I guess she couldn't because I still see her on Saturday. And since then, we haven't spoken but a few hellos.

I find this rather amusing ;-p

Wait. Who says you get to pilot?

I know it rained rather heavily last night (awesomesauce for bedtime). I'm sure people are aware that the roads will be wet and slippery come morning. So why the fuck do some still drive like a maniac? And caused heavy traffic congestion for the rest of us?

I can't believe the amount of road accidents (car overturned and 2 or 3 cars pile up accidents, on BOTH SIDE of the road, I might add) I heard over the radio this morning. And there I was, stuck in the same spot for nearly 15 minutes!

What gives??

While We Wait...

We're at Mira's ballet school. She's just went in to start her class. I'm trying to find some ways to while away my time now.

Today, we're late. Not really late, more like we're just in time. However, still not enough time to put on her ballet shoes, put her report book in the inbox and prepare herself for class. Therefore, we're late anyway.

But luckily we're given a reprise. Her teacher held back her other class for a little bit.

I was suprised to see so many parents at the school lobby this morning. Usually, there'll be just a handful of us Pre-primary parents sitting there, waiting for our kids. But today, other parents are here as well. And a few elder girls (lets call them Seniors). Usually they'll cooped up upstairs.

As it turned out, today's test result day for Grade 1 class and they receive their certs, too. No wonder lah. The parents are here for it and they're all very excited about it, talking with their fellow peers. While we, Pre-prime parents look on, shall I say, dreaming of the day our kids get their own certs. Lol.

I think everyone passed, mostly, I peeked, get B grades. Congratulations to all the girls. I suppose they'll start Grade 2 next week.

That's it for today :)

My Little Ballerina

My Little BallerinaI wanted to enroll Mira into Baby Ballet class since she was two and a half years old. It has more to do with social reasons than anything else. It was either ballet or back to Tumble Tots.

But what's cuter than baby girls in pink tutu, right? Little did I know that even if she joined the class then, she'll be wearing a white pinafore. No tutus involved, whatsoever. Lol.

When I called the school back then, they only accept kids aged three years above for the said class. I kept that in file and planned to take her there after she turned three.

Her birthday came and went, and we never did anything about it. I haven't really forgotten, just me being the famous procrastinator that I am ;p

Now that she is about to turn five and showed real interest in dancing (she has learned by heart all the steps from her last year's school concert dvd... for ALL the performances!), DH thought it's time to revisit this plan of mine. Besides, she kept on telling me she wants to go 'dancing' as well as becoming a 'princess'.

What is with little girls and their fascination in becoming a princess? Something in the genes? I remembered wanting to be a princess when I was a child, too.

I made it as one of my 2009 goals to register her this year. Hence, the week before CNY I took her to the ballet school nearby where we live to check out the place and inquire about their classes. They're about to go on a week's break, so even if I enrolled her then, her class will only start on the first week of February.

Because her birthday is coming up soon, the admission lady said she can join the Pre-Primary class. And it was also our luck that day, a class was about to begin. She let Mira try out the class to see how she finds it before I pay up the registration and term fees.

I can see she enjoyed the class immensely. She came out from the room with big smiles and eyes shining with happiness. I signed her up without a second thought.

Her first class started yesterday. It was for 45 minutes. I can see that she had loads of fun, but to me, it looked rather tiring. The girls (there was about ten of them) did feet exercises, leg exercises, hands gestures (whatchamacallit?) and running around in circles on the balls of their feet (not quite tippy toes) with a sheer scarf as props.

I don't know where this will lead us as it's too early to tell but for now, it is something she likes, something fun to do and gives good exercise to boot :)

Oh, you know what'll be the next fun thing to do? Tap dancing!! Haha!

I'm Pretty Amazed

I've some 'breaking news', but haven't the chance to get to it yet. It kinda related to this entry though. So the gist of it is, we now have two cats. Yes. TWO. More story on how that come about later.

Anyway, I have my own channel on YouTube. I hardly post anything there, except a handful of silly things of which I use to link it to this blog. Last night, I managed to record our kitten playing with this cat-plaything which I find funny. So, without a second thought, I post it on my channel. You know, just for fun (I'm nothing but frivolous).

Normally, nothing much happens to my videos. It'll get the most maybe 30 views without any respond (comments, star rating, the likes). I'm a nobody in this vast space and am very comfortable with that fact.

So, imagine my surprise when I received notifications that a few people have commented on this little kitten video of mine. On top of that, it has gathered 26 honours today!
