Meaning: To complain habitually. I don't complain much, do I?

Have you ever felt bored to the point of getting sick? Like, nauseous kind of sick. I am experiencing it now. Hmmm... perhaps it's not as much as feeling bored but having this feeling of gloom or foreboding. It's like I'm waiting for something to happen, but it's not happening as fast as I wish it could.

And this post is going to be as random as I allow it to be.

Om Shanti Om was not bad. You couldn't have anticipated the drama that was about to unfold by just watching the first half an hour or so of the movie. At first I thought it was of the usual romantic-comedy genre, with Shah Rukh Khan's silly acting and fallen madly in love with the heroine et al. But towards the end, it turned into quite a spooky film.

The main plot was about reincarnation, revenge and ghosts of the past. That's all I'm revealing here. I had written the whole storyline but I thought I'd better not spoil it for you. Lol.

I only just discovered via this blogger that this month is NaBloPoMo. Nablop-what? It's National (why not make it international, I wonder) Blog Posting Month challenge, where you post everyday for the month of November. Something akin to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

You may win a prize too while you're at it.

So many things happening in the month of November, eh? What about October? December? March? July? Why specifically November?

You know what my deepest, probably darkest, desire is? Well, other than marrying Daniel Radcliffe that is, but that's besides the point; is to quit my job, be a soccer-mom (now, if I only have a girl and the only ferrying around I'll ever do is sending her off to ballet classes, wouldn't I become a dancer-mom instead?) and have all the time in the world to read and write vigorously!

I also wish I won a hefty lottery beforehand, so we don't have to worry about money. But that's never going to happen lah kan, because to win one, you have to buy a ticket first, innit? Lol!

I can't believe it took me two hours to come to this point in my entry. I've been sidetracked so many times. I don't understand why people would call in during lunch time, when everybody in this office goes out to have their lunch. What is the purpose of calling anyway. Couldn't they wait until after 2pm? Absurd, some people are.

Yesterday, DH informed me that he won two tickets to watch The Golden Compass premiere at GSC Pavilion on the 5th December from Maybank2U. He was surprised with his win because he's never use their service before. *snicker*

I'm dragging my movie-buddy Sue with me for this. I'm half way through the book, loving it so far. You think I can finish it before next Wednesday? Let's hope so.

On the other hand, I've been trying my luck to ask DH for a Coach wristlet. It's our wedding anniversary next week, is it not, thus one has to be proactive about gifts. Lol! But he kept asking me to wait. I think he's got something up his sleeves. He's not telling, but I think I know what it is.

Have you seen my new sparkly acquisition yet?

I have so many rings but I hardly wear them. Buying them was fun, but wearing them was a hassle. I hardly wear my wedding ring because to tell you the truth, I HATE IT! I don't know what came over me allowing DH to choose one for me.

Turned out the ring was pure gold. I traded most of my rings (the ones with stones doesn't have much value in them) except my engagement ring (I love that one) and managed to get quite a sum. I've always wanted a white gold diamond ring, but alas, my dream ring costs a fortune. I've decided upon a simple band with diamonds around it, also known as eternity ring.

I've set my mind on a simple one, but that costs much lesser than the value of my trade-in gold. The sales person showed me a more stunning one and with an imaginary slap on my head by Sue (coz I swear she would have done it as I was hesitating), I bought it.

And I've fallen in love with it ever since. It's beautiful y'all.

Le sigh.

I started writing this entry at about quarter to one. Only managed to finish it three hours later.

I use 'Lol' so much these days, it's scaring me off. I not only use it here, but when I'm having a conversation in my head as well. Instead of laughing, I 'Lol'-ed.

It Will Be A Sinful Friday

Mira's kindy extended their school term by a week in order to replace the additional holidays they took during Raya. Hence, the year end Parents / Teacher meeting has been pushed to tomorrow. My session with her teacher will be at about 9am, but I've decided to take the whole day off anyway.

Which is a good thing because Sue took the half day off as well to accommodate our movie date. There're only two slots for this particular movie we wanted to watch tomorrow. We'll be heading to Mid Valley for our usual dose of movie, Burger King and a little bit of shopping. I am planning to drag her to The Gardens to go for a look-see.

We're going to watch Om Shanti Om. Now, I don't think you need ten reasons to see the latest Shahrukh Khan flick. There's only one ultimate reason... just watch!

The man is 42 y'all! I am just going to allow myself to enjoy 'everything'! Hopefully my mind can stay focus on the storyline though. Lol!

Mrs SRK is one lucky lady ;)

Listening To The Spice Girls

Track 01 - Wanna Be
Your and my introduction to the Spices, no?

"If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends,
Make it last forever friendship never ends,
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give,
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is."

Now, slam your body down and zigazig ah!

Track 02 - Say You'll Be There
One of my favourite.

"If you, put two and two together
you will see what our friendship is for (Oh)
If you can't work this equation then
I guess I'll have to show you the door
There is no need to say you love me,
It would be better left unsaid"

Track 03 - 2 Become 1
Another one of my favourites. A very sensual song. I must say, I was innocent enough back then, because *I* didn't catch on the meaning of 'put it on, put it on' part in this song :p

"Be a little bit wiser baby, put it on, put it on
'cause tonight is the night when 2 become 1"

Yeah :p

Track 04 - Mama
Sigh. I can not even try to sing this song. Every time I hear it, I will cry from beginning to end!

"Back then I didn't know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All that you did was love "

Mama, I love you. Mama, my friend :(

Track 05 - Who Do You Think You Are?

"You have got to swing it shake it move it make it
who do you think you are?
Trust it use it prove it groove it
show me how good you are
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
show me how good you are."

For watching their Istanbul's concert video repeatedly (as in every night before bedtime, as well as during the day and night over the weekends), I have memorised the dance sequence for this song and I *still* do remember them! Muahaha!

Track 06 - Move Over
Generation next. A song they did for Pepsi if I'm not mistaken.

"Let me tell you 'bout a thing, gotta put it to the test,
It's a celebration, motivation, generation next
Well sow me the seed, every colour, every creed,
Teach never preach, listen up and take heed"

Track 07 - Spice Up Your Life

"Colours of the world
Spice up you life
Every boy and every girl
Spice up your life
People of the world
Spice up your life
Aaaahh!!! "

Yup, I remember this dance step too.

Track 08 - Too Much
My favourite song!

"What part of no don't you understand
I want a man not a boy who thinks he can"

Track 09 - Stop
I know the hand moves for the chorus part of this song as well. Lol.

"Stop right now, thank you very much,
I need somebody with the human touch,
Hey you always on the run,
Gotta slow it down baby, gotta have some fun."

Great fun, that ;)

Track 10 - Viva Forever

"Viva Forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, Like the sun
Live Forever, for the moment
Ever searching, for the one"

Track 11 - Let Love Lead The Way

"Part of me laughs
Part of me cries
Part of me wants to question why
Why is there joy
Why is there pain
Why is there sunshine and the rain"

Track 12 - Holler
This is actually quite nice after listening to it again now.

"I wanna make you holler and hear you scream my name
I'll give you rules to follow so you can play my game
Imagine us together, be driving you insane
You will give into me, don't be afraid to play my game"

It's all about sex, babeh.

Track 13 - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)
I like this chorus part very much.

"Let’s make the headlines, loud and true
(Say you love me and I’ll say I love you too)
I wanna tell the world I’m giving it all to you
(Just remember what simple words can do)
Let’s make the headlines, loud and clear
(All that I have I give to you my friend)
The best things suddenly happen when you are here
(Just remember friendship never ends)
And if I lost my way you’d carry me home
Take me all the way to heaven, never leave me alone (everything)
And it’s just like everything matters when you are near (matters when you’re near)"

Track 14 - Voodoo
Is this a new song? Hmmm... I think so. It sounds too 'High School The Musical' for me, though.

"Get up and use your voodoo
You know you want it bad (so bad)
You wanna lead the way yeah you do
Be the best you know you can"

Track 15 - Goodbye
No no no noooooo. No no no noooooo.

"The times when we would play about,
The way we used to scream and shout.
We never dreamt you'd go your own sweet way"

That's about it. This is their Greatest Hits album. Apparently, there's another album called Spice Girls - Now Return? I couldn't find any news or information on it though.

Oh well...

I think this is cute,
[Miranda pulls a chain of condoms out of her diaper bag]

Samantha: Oh, honey, isn't the baby birth control enough?
Miranda: They're Steve's. And Debbie's, his new girlfriend, that's her name. Debbie.
Carrie: Where are they doing it, Gymboree?
Samantha: Debbie does daycare.

[Brady picks up the condoms and puts them in his mouth. Charlotte is horrified.]

Samantha: Oh, honey, relax. I have those in my mouth all the time.

And this one, too.

Look! Eva Longoria has tattoo-ed her wedding date on her wrist. [Source]

Maybe I should do one too. I always forget our wedding date and this will help me remember. Lol! What I find amusing, is that DH remember the exact date though, the darlings. I had to check with him and I think the tatt will look like this...

Nice, eh? You can convert numbers to romans here.

Woah, I just realize Beckham's England jersey number is 7. Hmmm... Harry Potter's Quidditch jersey number is 7, too. Shouldn't be hard to remember now, eh?

Here is a verse I came across reading through Philip Pullman's Northern Lights (aka The Golden Compass);
"That's the duty of the old," said the Librarian, '"to be anxious on behalf of the young. And the duty of the young is to scorn the anxiety of the old." [Ch. 2 The Idea of North, pg.33, UK version]
So true, so true.

There's a story in my head that is begging to be told. I can feel it! Like it's constantly at the back of my head. I couldn't grasp the solid idea yet because I couldn't give it enough time for it to surface. However, it is making my head feel numb.

How now?

I woke up with a headache this morning. The dream I had was all fantastic at the beginning (something about my family; that being my dad, my late mom, Kim and I, go for a family holiday), but towards the end it became rather intense.

I was looking for a file in my room. I couldn't find it. My parents was about to leave to go some where, I wanted to hitch a ride from them to this meeting place. I searched and I searched but it was no where to be found. I started to think hard where I could have placed it and tried to remember where I last seen it.

I just had to force myself to wake up. If it's even possible, my brain hurts :-p

I had a bad week at work. Although it ended on a high note on Friday, but I had to 'suffer' through the week anyhow. There's no use pointing fingers, really. I suspect each of us played our part to come to that point. It just cascaded down from the top -- the instigator, the starting point. If you're late in completing your portion, would it still be our fault if the end result doesn't come as it should?

That's the mystery of the universe for you. But for me, the next time, I'll trust my instinct, thank you very much. Save me the trouble of heartache and headache.

How I survived with my sanity intact? Eating lots of chocolates. Cadbury's Caramello (hey look, it has its own Wiki!) is my friendly source of comfort. It is as good as Prozac I reckon. Hehe.

Transformers video is on sale now. I haven't bought the DVD yet though. I wanted to, but I couldn't decide which one I should buy -- the single disc or double disc? In the end, DH suggest we get the VCD instead. It's cheaper, he said.

But alas, the quality? It's not even the widescreen version. Meh. I'm so unsatisfied with it. I'm going to get the two-disc dvd later, and give the vcd version to Kim.

You know what would be better to watch the Transformers on though? Widescreen TV! ;-) Yes, darling, I'm looking at you!

Note To Self: In Death Series

Missing books from the bookshelf, to replace:
  • Naked In Death (Book 1) - acquired 23 June 2008
  • Immortal In Death (Book 3) - acquired 25 June 2008
  • Silent Night: A Collection of Short Stories (Midnight In Death)

Books not in collection, to get:
  • Interlude In Death - Out of This World Anthology (Book 14)
  • Divided In Death (Book 20) - acquired 24 July 2008
  • Remember When (Book 21)
  • Visions In Death (Book 22) - acquired 30 July 2008
  • Survivor In Death (Book 23) - acquired 30 July 2008
  • Origin In Death (Book 24)
  • Memory In Death (Book 25)
  • Haunted In Death - Bump in the Night Anthology (Book 26)
  • Born In Death (Book 27)
  • Innocent In Death (Book 28)
  • Eternity In Death - Dead of Night Anthology (Book 29)
  • Creation In Death (Book 30)
  • Strangers In Death (Book 31)

Some background:
The In Death Series are written by Nora Roberts using J.D. Robb as her pseudonym. It is a romance-mystery story about Eve Dallas, a Lieutenant with the New York City Police and Security Department and it is set in the mid-21st century (circa 2058 AD).

It was first recommended to me by a mobile book retailer that supplies me books about ten years ago now, and I just fell in love with it the moment I read it's first book, Naked In Death. You'll like Eve, a gutsy loner, who had a dark mysterious childhood. And Roarke, a sexy enigmatic former criminal turned sexy enigmatic rich inter-planetary businessman, who eventually becomes Eve's husband. For some reason I always imagine him to look like Pierce Brosnan. Hehe.

I used to follow the publication of the books closely, but since that mobile book retailer has gone MIA, I find it difficult to keep track. Two books are published in a year, normally one in February and another in November. And as you know, we sometime don't get the book the same time as it's official release date.

And then I'll tend to forget all about it and everything becomes such a mess (like which book is supposed to be read first, etc).

This shall serve as a list and reminder. I've checked via Kinokuniya Bookweb, they have the first four books that's on this list. For a start, I shall order them and pick it up once my order has been confirmed. I miss my Roarke! And I want to know how's Eve coping with life and the re-submergence of her mysterious past through her dreams. It becomes clearer throughout the series since I read them last.

I can't wait!

The bleh events of Thursday has been fully redeemed by great company, Burger King and this movie. Hurrah!

We went into the movie without any expectation and we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Isn't it nice to be surprised when you least expected it?

I, for one, enjoyed myself immensely! I laughed so much. In fact, I think Sue and I were the only two that laughed a lot throughout. The other patrons are rather stoned, we think. It's either that, or they didn't get the jokes :p

I can still grin goofily whenever I imagined Rupert Everett in his character (omg! you couldn't have recognized him at first sight) or Ricky Gervais' chicken clucking or Robert De Niro's antics as a gay pirate.

I like the exchanges between the two protagonist, Tristan and Yvaine. I think Yvaine was very witty. Tristan was very blur-blur naive sort of a hero, which was fantastically adorable and he's such a sappy romantic. He's cute too. Cleaned up very nicely after being given a make over by Captain Shakespeare ;)

This movie is an adult romantic adventure fairy tale, based on a book written by Neil Gaiman. I find the story quirky, funny and fun.

There was this sequence in the movie when Yvaine poured her heart out to Tristan (in a form of a mouse after being cursed by a witch named Ditchwater Sal), that I find very romantic and suitable to be used to ask your love for her hand in marriage, on bended knee no less...

What I'm trying to say, Tristan is... I think I love you. Is this love, Tristan? I never imagined I'd know it for myself. My heart... It feels like my chest can barely contain it. Like it's trying to escape because it doesn't belong to me any more. It belongs to you. And if you wanted it, I'd wish for nothing in exchange - no gifts, no goods, no demonstrations of devotion. Nothing but knowing you loved me too. Just your heart, in exchange for mine.

Le sigh.

Go see it and catch it on the big screen while you can. I'm definately buying the video when it's out and the book too while I'm at it.

Addendum @ 2345:
The video to the soundtrack, by Take That titled Rule The World.

I likeeeee...

What Kind of Coffee Girl Are You?

You Are a Double Espresso

Hey Energizer Bunny Girl! Do you ever slow down?
You're a mix of high energy and ambition, perfectly matched with strong espresso
When you want something you get it - by any means possible
You're driven, determined, and no nonsense. Which is just how you like your java.

Got this from Wawa's blog.

Hmmm... Energizer Bunny girl? I'm feeling like a snail at the moment *roll eyes* However, the 'will get something by any possible means' rings true when I'm on form.

Which at the moment, am so totally not :p

Will be going off for a movie date with Sue this evening. We're watching Stardust. I wanted to watch The Bourne Ultimatum while Sue wants to watch Shah Rukh Khan's latest flick Om Shanti Om. But neither has a show that suits our movie time.

So, Stardust it is.

Angry Bee

We just got back from watching the Bee Movie at GSC Mid Valley. Yup. Just that and lunch at Carl's Jr and then we head HOME!

If it's even possible we'll be home right after we stepped out from our apartment door! What is the matter with you!!!???

But I digress.

The movie was bleh. You'll just soon forget about it. After the Simpsons and Ratatouille, this was nothing more but a cartoon. Some of the jokes are funny. But mostly, the movie was mediocre.

It was just about a bee, who wanted to be something more than just a drone. Hmmm... let's see. Haven't we seen something like that before? Oh yes! A Bug's Life and Antz! Yup, that but change the hero-ant protagonist to a bee, you'll get Bee Movie :p

Oh, and he's suing the humans for using bees to steal honey for money. "That was it?", was my exact thought after he won the case (eh, sorry for spoiling it for you. muahaha! but I'm not in the mood to be nice today).

The kids might like it though. The colours used in the movie was vibrant and er.. colourful. But adults, please stay away. You may just wanna wait for the DVDs instead (pirated or not :p).

Right. Next, is Carl's Jr. Their new restaurant in Mid Valley just opened today. I've been waiting for it with anticipation. I remembered their juicy charbroiled burgers filled with ooey-gooey cheese. Yummy!

So naturally, when I saw it has now open it's door for business, I excitedly dragged everyone, amidst kicking and screaming and 'Lets go home' mantras, to have lunch there. I ordered the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger and DH had Portobello Mushroom Burger. Mira just wants the chips.

I was sorely disappointed.

My beef patty was dry. Nothing in my burger gives me that 'OMG, I'm in heaven' feeling when I sink my teeth into it. Nothing! Na-da! It's just, teeth meet burger and followed by a stiff handshake and they're on their separate way.

The whole experience was not worth the RM23 I paid for. Burger King has much much better burgers and its wayyyyy cheaper! For the amount I paid, I'd rather have the sandwiches in Chili's or All Star's Cafe.

Sigh. Such a fucked up day. Two blehs in a span of 2 hours is not good for the soul.

So you see, the moment a certain some one use his 'lets go home' mantra again, when the plan was to go check out The Gardens after the movie and all, I just see red. I'm SO annoyed and royally pissed off.

Still am!

November Rain

Did it rain Friday night? No.

Saturday morning perhaps? It'd be nice to sleep-in. Nope.

What about Saturday night? Not at all.

Then why is it raining tonight? When tomorrow is Monday and we can't be sleeping in cozying up in our sheets to this cool weather?

The weather is CRUEL!!

Spice Girls Comeback

Their new single, Headlines (Friendship Never Ends), is kinda growing on me. I would prefer it if they come out with a catchy pop song, instead of a ballad. They're in their 30s y'all, not 50s. Thus, I don't really understand why do they come out with a slow song for. They exit the scene last with another ballad if you can remember, which was Goodbye.

The video? Colour me unimpressed! I cannot see the correlation between the vids and the single. Although yes, a song and it's music video doesn't have to correspond, but I've seen better one made. This (the Spice Girls one) is crap. The editing sucks too.

See for your self lah.

The beginning reminded me of their Goodbye video, really.

What's with the lingerie, ladies?

Geri? Nice abs ;-)

What IS Victoria trying to do with her hair?

Mel C? I now understand your reluctance to return back to the group. But it's been known you're the lifesaver of the group. Without you, what do they have left? :-p

Salagadoola Mechicka Boola Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Wafi is back after staying a month with his paternal grand parents. I've appointed myself his Fairy Godmother, seeing that I'm given the task to coach my sister Kim on the finer arts of parenting. Har har!

My first duty was to give him his morning bath.

I must say, after nearly four years since I last care for a babe, I'm a little rusty. How do we give a proper bath to a baby again? I don't remember us using a baby bathtub with Mira and it worked well for us. But some how today with Wafi, I was a bit clumsy with my ministration. It felt all out of sorts, really.

I helped mind him while Kim do her stuff and ate. I took him outdoors to enjoy the morning sun. After a while, he fell into slumber. It appears as if all he does is sleep. LOL! I don't remember Mira sleeping this much.

And speaking of Mira, everything about Wafi amuses her. When he cries, she gets excited. When he's having his milk, she also wants one. When we let him lie on his mat, she wants to do the same as well. The funny thing happened yesterday. When she saw Kim cradle Wafi, she came to me asking me to cradle her just like Wafi.

She's now our big baby. LOL!

My big baby will be four years old in four months time. Sigh. I've recently confirmed her enrollment to Pre-School Year 1 with her current kindergarten. Soon, we will have to decide where to send her to school. Before we know it, she'll be in Primary 1. Yikes!

We've narrowed it down to two primary schools nearby where we live.

In the mean time, I'm just going to enjoy spending whatever time I have with her -- cozying up watching tv shows together, singing together, window shopping together, driving around aimlessly together. Or just observing her antics, which always makes me smile.
